When Dr Abraham Daniel-Joel came to this country 35 years ago, the Lord showed him a vision in which Russia and the UK were in a nuclear war. Then, it seemed strange, but now the news reports are showing the rising tensions between the two nations.

Russia wants to cause UK harm – it’s time to take that seriously, ex-military chief warns

Stuart Peach, former chief of the defence staff, said Russia poses “a threat to our way of life”, amid increasing concern that the UK’s undersea cables – which are vital to internet access, financial transactions and the sharing of essential data – are vulnerable to sabotage.

On Sunday 5th July, we as a church prayed for the UK.

Here are the prayer points we prayed:

  1. Thanking God for the privilege of intercession and the opportunity we have to pray for the UK. (Psalm 100:4-5)

  2. Thanking God that we can be watchmen and women over the UK. (Psalm 127:1; Ezekiel 3:17; Ezekiel 33:7; Ezekiel 22:30)

  3. Lord, deliever and defend the UK for the sake of Your purposes and Your Church. Raise up a standard against Russia. (Ezekiel 22:30; Isaiah 59:19; Isaiah 37:35; Isaiah 38:6; Zechariah 9:15)

  4. God save the UK. (Ephesians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:1-6)

Pray with us

  • Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

    Thank you God for the privilege of intercession and the opportunity we have to pray for the UK.

  • Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

    Psalm 127:1
    Thank you God that we can be watchmen and women over the UK.

  • Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:

    Ezekiel 3:17
    The Lord has made us all watchmen over the UK.

  • So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.

    Ezekiel 33:7

  • So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

    Ezekiel 22:30
    Let us be the people God finds to stand in the gap so He does not destroy the UK.

  • So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

    Isaiah 59:19
    Lord, raise up a standard for the UK against Russia. We pray that we in the west fear the name of the Lord.

  • For I will defend this city, to save it For My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.

    Isaiah 37:35
    Lord, defend the UK to save it. For Your Name’s sake and for the sake of Your Church.

  • I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.” ’ And this is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken:

    God deliever us and the UK from Russia, and defend the nation. Thank you for doing this thing.

  • The Lord of hosts will defend them; They shall devour and subdue with slingstones. They shall drink and roar as if with wine; They shall be filled with blood like basins, Like the corners of the altar.

    Zechariah 9:15
    The God of angel armies shall defend us. We’re believing God for angelic ministration for this country.

  • Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

    Ephesians 3:20
    We are praying that God will save the UK.

  • Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

    We are praying for the parliament, the Prime Minister, the cabinet, the opposition parties, the military, the airforce and all those in the force.
